Transition Day (AKA T-Day): There's a Place for You Here.

Think back to when you were finishing up 8th grade.  What questions did you have about EHS?  Were you excited?  A little nervous?  The transition between middle school and high school can be tough.  The goal of Transition Day is to build excitement and alleviate stress about coming to EHS among the 8th graders.  As Hawk Crew Leaders, you will have a big role in that day!

Here is a rough outline of what T-Day will look like at EHS.  You will get more information about the classroom activities at training on June 2nd (for some of you) and June 9th (for all of you.)

While we are still finalizing details, here are some highlights:
Wednesday June 11th is an odd block day, so 8th graders will be here during block 3 and 5th period
Hawk Crew leaders will be excused from those classes, but know they are responsible for making up missed work
Freshmen classes will be relocated into senior classrooms as Seniors will be at Six Flags that day.
Freshmen teachers will be asked to meet with 8th graders during Period 3.
We will be serving lunch and having a Club Fair in the Sophomore Lot during Period 5.  Club representatives will be excused from those classes, but know they are responsible for making up missed work.  (This does not replace the September Club Fair, but is in addition to it.)

9:45 - 10:00    8th Graders arrive and go into Auditorium: 6 Counselors plus Ann Shine and Kerry Roether will meet the busses and pass them off to Hawk Crew Leaders to walk into the auditorium

10:00 - 10:30  Welcome/Introduction to the day in Auditorium.  Freshmen Teachers and Counselors are invited to attend and will be introduced.

10:30 - 11:30   Hawk Crew Leaders and Freshmen Teachers lead activity in FRESHMEN CLASSROOMS.  (Freshmen will be re-located to Senior classrooms for Periods 3 and 5)

11:30 - 12:30  8th Graders will have lunch and visit Club Fair.  Both will be in the Sophomore Parking Lot

12:30-12:40     Busses return to CMS.  EHS students help with clean up and then go back to class.
